The 10th Event was the........... 4th DD Sahyadri Cine awards

Creating in house events and marketing them started in the year 2001 when DDK Mumbai was giving a face lift to DD Sahyadri, the Marathi channel of Doordarshan. Since then the channel has created a niche brand for itself. From  Rupees14 crores in 2001 to Rupees 36 crores in 2006, DD Sahyadri was climbing up and up when the other regional  DD channels were loosing the market share and eye balls. I was heading the DDK Mumbai & the Marathi channel at that time. Unfortunately the success story of the channel was never replicated.

In 2012 exactly after 6 years I was asked to take up the additional charge of DD Sahydri, apart from heading the marketing and West Zone region of Doordarshan. The Events are back again on the channel and the face lift of DD Sahyadri  has begun.

The Dark Clouds  hovering overhead and incessant rains cast a Gloomy spell on the 4th DD Sahyadri Cine Awards on 18th June, 2013 at Ravindra Natya Mandir, Prabhadevi, Mumbai. But then, all’s well that ends well.   

The colorful saga of DD Events Continues...

Thanks to  Doordarshan Kendra Staff, Friends, well wishers , Amol Palekar, Mahesh Kothare, Sachin Pilgaonkar, Kiran Shantaram, N.Chandra, Raj Dutt, Jury Members, Nominees, Awardees and performers, who braved the torrential rain’s and made it to Ravindra Natya Mandir for the Award Function.

On 31st May happens to be the day when I get a chance to come out in the open, in the public galore. Ten years ago I walked the ramp for a good cause "Say no to Tobacco". I was made to wear Nita Lulla's dress and Shina NC was my host. since then as a social Broadcaster I continue to be in the lime light some times by design and some times by default.

This year too on 31st May 2013,Aashirwad Foundation, a Sociocultural group decided to honour & felicitate me the recepient of MOTHER TERESA Award for Public Service Broadcasting.
