The year was 1989 when Mukesh sharma received his first National Award from the President of India for his debut ant film children feature film Anokha Aspatal. The film was also show cased at the Frankfurt, Cairo , Chicago, Iran and Mauritius film festivals.

In 1990 Mukesh Sharma once again received the National Film award for the film Operation pink pigeon or Ankur Maina aur kabootar as the co producer along with the Mr Bijoy Madhou the MD of Mauritius film development corporation.
